The Washington Nationals recalled outfielder Andrew Stevenson from Triple-A Syracuse and placed outfielder Brian Goodwin on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to Monday) with a left wrist contusion on Tuesday. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.
Stevenson, 23, gets the call for his first Major League assignment of the season. He joins the Nationals after a strong Spring Training where he hit .274 with four doubles, two homers, eight RBIs and six runs scored in 25 Grapefruit League games.
Stevenson enjoyed two stints with Washington in 2017, appearing in right field (14 G), left field (9 G) and center field (5 G) during his first MLB season.
