After breaking out for seven runs in their win over the Cubs on Friday night, the Nationals will try and continue that momentum on Saturday to give rookie Joe Ross some help in his MLB debut.
Ross, 22, was called up from Double-A Harrisburg to fill in while the Nats’ rotation deals with injuries. The right-hander was acquired in a trade with the San Diego Padres this offseason. Ross joins the Nationals after holding a 2.81 ERA through nine starts with Harrisburg.
