Fresh off a dominant outing by Stephen Strasburg on Saturday, the Nationals will now send Max Scherzer (11-8, 2.31) to the mound looking to end this series against the Colorado Rockies and homestand on a high note.
The Nationals are 3-3 through six games at home over the past week. Up next after Sunday is their longest West Coast trip of the season, beginning with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Scherzer is making his 23rd start of the 2015 season. He helped the Nats beat the Diamondbacks with six innings of three-run ball in his last outing on Aug.
