WASHINGTON -- Nationals second baseman Danny Espinosa left Saturday's 4-2 loss against the Dodgers in the ninth inning because of cramps in both his calves.
With a runner on first, no outs and left-hander Sammy Solis on the mound, Adrian Gonzalez hit the ball past the diving Espinosa, who stayed on the ground for several seconds. Manager Matt Williams and assistant athletic trainer Steve Gober came out to check on Espinosa, who left the game a few minutes later and was replaced by Emmanuel Burriss.
"You can tell by the dive, it wasn't real pleasant to watch because [Espinosa] kind of fell over," Williams said.
