Yunel Escobar left Wednesday’s game in the bottom of the second inning against the New York Mets with an apparent injury to his left wrist.
The Nationals infielder fell to the ground after swinging at a pitch from Noah Syndergaard. He then got up clutching his left wrist as trainers and manager Matt Williams came to his aid.
Escobar would stay in for one more pitch, one that he fouled off. But after that he felt something and immediately dropped his bat and walked to the dugout. Dan Uggla replaced him and struck out on the next pitch.
