BALTIMORE | Nationals manager Dave Martinez announced Tuesday that Erick Fedde will be called up from the Double-A Harrisburg Senators to start on Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles.
Fedde is 1-1 with a 3.79 ERA in 11 games this year — six starts and five relief appearances — for the Nationals. He last pitched in the minor leagues on July 2 with Triple-A Fresno, then threw a simulated game on Sunday in Harrisburg of about 20 to 25 pitches.
“He has been looking good. I think he will help us in the big leagues here pretty soon,” Harrisburg All-Star catcher Tres Barrera told The Washington Times on Monday.
