The Nationals placed outfielder Brian Goodwin on the 10-day disabled list with a left groin injury Wednesday morning, calling up outfielder Alejandro De Aza from Triple-A Syracuse to take his place.
In a corresponding move, the Nationals transferred injured shortstop Trea Turner to 60-day DL to make room on the 40-man roster for De Aza. Turner went on the DL with a broken wrist June 30, and will be eligible to return to the Nationals in two weeks.
Goodwin injured his groin during a game against the San Francisco Giants on August 13, and hasn’t appeared since.
