BALTIMORE — The Washington Nationals had a frustrating wait of nearly eight hours on the tarmac in Philadelphia through early Monday before flying to Milwaukee.
But the trip never bordered on the near-tragic like the one slugger Trey Mancini of the Baltimore Orioles experienced when he was in college at Notre Dame.
Mancini was with his sister and father, an OB-GYN, on a flight during fall break from South Bend, Indiana to St. Petersburg, Florida when a passenger had a medical emergency.
“His heart stopped beating. My father resuscitated him,” Mancini said before Monday’s game against the Boston Red Sox.
