President Biden announced seven judicial nominations on Wednesday, including the first Hispanic judge for the influential Court of Appeals in Washington, the first Black woman for the federal appeals court that covers the Deep South, and a South Asian-American woman who fought a GOP challenge of the 2020 presidential election results in Arizona.
Mr. Biden tapped Bradley Garcia, 35, for a seat on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, which is considered a stepping stone to the Supreme Court. Mr. Garcia started a job earlier this year as deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel.
