Washington Nationals infielder Anthony Rendon was back at Nationals Park on Monday, but for all the wrong reasons.
Instead of rejoining the big-league team on the field, Rendon traveled to Washington to see team doctor Wiemi Douoguih about lingering tightness on his left side. Manager Matt Williams declined to go into detail about the nature of the injury and said the team would know more after Rendon’s meeting with Douoguih.
“I don’t know why it’s been a problem. It’s just crept up on him,” Williams said.
