The Washington Nationals were set to hire Bud Black, but the team has changed course. The Nationals will now hire Dusty Baker, according to numerous reports.
The Nationals couldn't reach a deal with Black, per Bob Nightengale.
Negotiations with the #Nats and Bud Black are over. They never came close to an agreement. #Nats now are in talks with Dusty Baker.

Nightengale reports that the Nationals offered Black a two-year deal worth less than two million, and Black would not accept that deal.
When neither party compromised, the Nationals moved to Baker, who has managed the San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds. Baker and his relaxed management style could be a good fit in D.C. in the wake of the Matt Williams era in D.C.
