The list of finalists for the John R. Wooden Award has been narrowed to five players, including two sophomores from undefeated and top-ranked Connecticut.
Katie Lou Samuelson, who leads UConn in scoring at 20.7 points per game, and Napheesa Collier, averaging 20.3 points and nine rebounds, have led the Huskies to a 35-0 record this season. UConn, seeking its fifth straight national championship, faces Oregon in the Elite Eight on Monday night and has a 110-game winning streak.
South Carolina's A'ja Wilson, Washington's Kelsey Plum and Ohio State's Kelsey Mitchell round out the finalists.
