LAKE CHELAN — Evacuation plans are now being developed for the south shore of Lake Chelan and the Stehekin areas as the Wolverine Fire continues to grow up lake. Air quality on the lake has reached hazardous levels.
Firefighters don’t expect to stop the fire before it reaches the Twentyfive Mile Creek area, about 15 miles from the fire’s current location, according to a national fire commander whose team will take over management of the fire.
