Saturday’s Windermere Cup will feature a loaded field that includes world champion New Zealand, Columbia and Virginia taking on the Washington crew teams on the Montlake Cut.
New Zealand and Columbia, one of college rowing’s most historic programs, are set to face the four-time defending national champion Washington men’s team.
The fifth-ranked women’s team will square off with No. 3 Virginia.
Coming off a split against No. 1 California, the UW men are set to face a big challenge against the 2013 and 2014 U23 world champion New Zealand men’s eight. Seven members of Washington’s current team faced New Zealand in the 2014 U23 world-championship men’s eight grand final.
