VERMILLION, S.D. – The Washington women rallied for a 77-64 basketball victory over South Dakota, ending an 18-game home winning streak for the Coyotes.
Talia Walton was the story for the Huskies, scoring 29 points on 10-of-16 shooting, including 6 of 9 from three-point range. She also had 11 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and a steal.
The Huskies (7-2) trailed at the half, but outscored South Dakota 49-31 after the break to pull away with the impressive victory. Kelsey Plum had 25 points. Alexus Atchley played a career-high 30 minutes and scored a career-best seven.
The first quarter was nearly a disaster for the Huskies, who started with a 5-0 lead before allowing a 19-0 run by South Dakota (6-4).
