Washington women golfers tied for 2nd after first round of California event

The 14th-ranked Washington women’s golf team sits tied for second at 1-over 285 after one day of the Northrop-Grumman Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes (Calif.) Golf Club, after placing four of its five team members in the top 25.

Charlotte Thomas leads the Huskies at 2-under 69, tied for third.

Thomas is joined in the top 15 by fellow senior Ying Luo, who finished at even par (71) to tie for 11th.

Freshman Wenyung Keh wrapped up her first round of the spring season with a 1-over 72, tied for 17th. Freshman Julianne Alvarez was at 2-over 73 (tied for 23rd).
