Washington sets softball record with its seventh consecutive shutout, topping Seton Hall 10-0

HUNTSVILLE, Texas — With its seventh consecutive shutout, the Washington softball team broke the 23-year-old school record of six shutouts in a row that was accomplished twice in 1995.

The Huskies topped Seton Hall 10-0 in five innings Saturday as Samantha Manti and Kristin Cochran combined for the shutout. Manti went four innings, striking out four, while Cochran worked a scoreless fifth.

Taryn Atlee had three RBI for the 8-0 Huskies, giving her 16 on the season. Sis Bates had a two-run homer. Taylor Van Zee had a double and a single.

Washington was scheduled to meet Sam Houston State in a second game Saturday, but that was wiped out by weather.
