Washington men’s tennis shuts out Penn

The No. 45 Washington men’s tennis team turned in a great performance at Nordstrom Tennis Center with a 7-0 victory over Pennsylvania on Sunday.

The Huskies (5-1) came out of the gate strong, leading all courts in doubles halfway through. However Nicholai Westergaard and Austin Kaplan came back to defeat Piers Foley and Enzo Sommer, 6-3.

Maegan Manasse beat Nour Abbes, 6-2, 6-2, to give the No. 6 California women a 4-0 victory over visiting No. 52 Washington in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend final.

• Oregon Tech used an 11-0 run over a five-minute span of the second half to take control, downing visiting Northwest University 68-51 in a Cascade Collegiate Conference men’s basketball game.
