There’s swagger and then there’s overconfidence.
Lorenzo Romar is trying to get his young Huskies to understand that difference between the two.
“Sometimes I feel like we think we can just walk out on the floor and it’s going to happen our way,” he said before Tuesday’s 92-67 nonconference victory against Texas Christian. “Hopefully in a win, we can learn these lessons.”
Romar spotted what he believed to be overconfidence from the Washington men’s basketball team nearly two weeks ago in the Bahamas when UW needed to overcome a halftime deficit to defeat Charlotte, which is off to a 1-7 start.
