Washington men mount double-digit comeback to take down No. 16 Baylor in season opener

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Washington men’s basketball team showed why they have such lofty expectations this season, capping a furious finish in style Friday night highlighted by their tenacious defense.

The Huskies completed an 8-0 run in the final moments to cap a 67-64 win over 16th-ranked Baylor in the Armed Forces Classic on the campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Nahziah Carter finished with a game-high 23 points.

Despite trailing by as many as 13 points during the second half, Washington chipped away at Baylor’s lead. The Huskies tied the game at 64-64 when Carter converted Jaden McDaniels’ pass into a three-pointer with 1 minute, 32 seconds remaining,
