On January 5th at 7 PM, the Washington Huskies women’s basketball team played its worst defensive game of the year statistically and got blasted by a thirteen-point margin.
The first quarter had high hopes; the Dawgs only suffered a two-point deficit at 16-14. The team played efficiently, allowing only one turnover to hold them back. However, this proved not to be enough as the team shot a plethora of threes and missed from the field 14 times on 21 attempts.
The second quarter wasn’t much better as the California Golden Bears began to pull away, and by the end of the first half, Washington was down 31-20.
