Washington looking for program-changer in Romar's replacement

On Wednesday, moments after she announced the firing of Lorenzo Romar, Washington athletic director Jennifer Cohen kicked off a national search for the Huskies' first new basketball coach in 15 years.

Cohen was an associate AD under Scott Woodward when UW hired head football coach Chris Petersen away from Boise State in a program-changing move in December 2013. She will be looking to do the same with her first major hire after being appointed as the full-time athletic director in May 2016.

The Huskies haven't made an NCAA tournament appearance since 2011, and last year's 9-22 record was the worst for the program in over two decades.
