The Washington Huskies Women’s Softball Team competed as hard as anyone in the recent 2017 Women’s Championship World Series. On one hand, despite a hitting drought, the team played hard and came oh-so-close to walking away a winner. On the other hand, the team lost to the “home team” Oklahoma Sooners by a score of 3-1. And eventually, after picking up a win, they fell to a second and final loss to the Florida Gators 5-2. Oklahoma went on to defeat Florida for the national title. All the while, a Rutgers Scarlet Knight Women’s Softball Team infielder by the name of Taryn Atlee cheered the Huskies on.
