Washington Huskies: Offensive Line takes a hit, Dexter Charles Retires.

The Huskies most experienced offensive lineman Dexter Charles announced that his ailing knee will force him to retire. Having 30 starts under his belt at left guard, including 9 last year, Charles was expected to anchor the relatively inexperienced line.

The 5th year senior from Camano Island, has already graduated, and having experienced nagging injuries that hampered last year, he has decided to hang up the cleats.

“We’re all very disappointed that Dexter’s injury won’t allow him to continue to play,” Washington head coach Chris Petersen said in a release. “I’m grateful for his dedication and hard work and very pleased that he earned his degree.
