Back in August of 2014 there was a lot of excitement about new head coach Chris Petersen. He had yet to coach his first game with the Huskies, but for Eastside Catholic standout Brandon Wellington, it didn't matter - Washington was where he wanted to be and he had already developed a good relationship with Petersen, so he became the first commit to the class of 2016 for the Huskies. And so for the next 18 months he had to bide his time until he could make it official. While he was tempted by overtures from schools like TCU to take an official visit and give them a look, he remained true to his word and took only one official visit - to Seattle to see his future home.
