Eugene, Ore. — Freshman Sarah Rhee, a graduate of Ingraham High School, holed out from the bunker on the first extra hole, giving the Huskies a 3-1-1 victory over UCLA and sending the Washington women’s golf team into the NCAA championship title match against Stanford.
Rhee who won the final three holes in regulation to send the match against Louise Ridderstrom to extra holes. Rhee’s approach on the first extra hole, the 10th, found the bunker. After holing out for birdie, UW won when Ridderstrom missed from the fringe.
“I was just trying to get it close, and sometimes they go in,” Rhee said.
