Michael Penix Jr. played an integral part in Washington’s success in 2022. He put up a career year in his first season with the team, throwing for 4,641 yards, 31 touchdowns, and only eight interceptions while breaking the Huskies’ single-season passing record. He went on to win the Alamo Bowl against Texas and placed eighth in the Heisman Trophy voting.
He ranked number one in the Pac-12 with pass completions, pass attempts, and passing yards. He was also number four in completion percentage with 65.3%.
