The University of Washington has fired Lorenzo Romar after 15 years in charge of the Huskies' basketball program, according to a report.
ESPN's Jeff Goodman reported that Romar was informed of the decision by the school's administration on Wednesday. Romar had three years remaining on a 10-year extension he signed with the school in 2010, and the university will likely have to pay Romar a $3.5 million buyout.
A Yahoo Sports report on March 6 alleged that Romar would keep his job for the 2017-18 season, but an athletic department source at UW called the report inaccurate and told seattlepi.
