Washington basketball has been lacking an on-court leader at the guard position since starting point guard Quade Green was ruled academically ineligible in early January, before the Huskies’ first matchup with Stanford.
Most of the losses the Huskies have suffered have come down the stretch, with most of those losses coming by six points or less. They’ve lacked someone that can hit a clutch jumper, like what Jaylen Nowell was in 2019. Teams have been able to double and even triple-team Isaiah Stewart, and the Huskies don’t have anyone who can knock down a jumper in crunch time.
