PASADENA, Calif. — At the end of pregame warmups, 25 minutes before kickoff in the Rose Bowl, UCLA coach Chip Kelly went out of his way to stop Myles Gaskin on the edge of the end zone.
Kelly shook hands with Washington’s senior running back, patted on him on the shoulder pads and appeared to offer some words of respect.
Gaskin has earned that kind of respect in his four years as one of the most productive running backs in the Pac-12, and he showed more of that Saturday night in his first game in the Rose Bowl.
