Washington coach Chris Petersen has refuted a claim from Baylor coach Art Briles about the violent history of former Boise State and Baylor defensive end Sam Ukwuachu.
Ukwuachu on Thursday was found guilty in Texas of sexual assault of a Baylor women’s soccer player in 2013. In May 2013, Petersen had dismissed Ukwuachu from the Boise State.
On Friday morning, Briles told reporters that he had spoken with Petersen before Ukwuachu transferred to Baylor and that Petersen made “no mention of anything beyond Sam being depressed and needing to come home.”
“So that was our information,” Briles said.
