UW’s Chris Petersen on backup quarterbacks, true freshmen and the ‘dog days’ of fall camp

The Huskies are 11 days away from the season opener against Rutgers (11 a.m., Sept. 3 at Husky Stadium) and inching closer some key depth-chart decisions that will be made at the end of this week. Here’s what UW coach Chris Petersen had to say in his only gathering with the media this week:

(on preparations this week) “We’re kind of in the dog days of fall camp. Really proud — we had a great practice this morning. Because it’s hard. There’s a lot of guys that are banged up and sore and stiff (after) 20-some practices, and so now we’ve got to not waste these next few practices before we get into game-plan-type stuff.
