Washington gave fans at HecEd plenty of reason to panic, but the final minute was bliss as the Dawgs celebrated a hard-earned 76-71 victory.
Washington entered Saturday looking to bounce back from its blown lead against Nebraska. In that one, a great first half was marred by an ugly second half, leading to an 86-72 loss for the Dawgs. This time, Washington outlasted a second-half flurry with timely baskets from DJ Davis and Great Osobor.
Washington opened the second half with a 39-30 lead after an opening 20 minutes that saw a slow start from both teams offensively, along with Wildcats head coach Chris Collins being ejected.
