SEATTLE Looks like Tacoma native Isaiah Thomas’ jersey will be going “2” the rafters after all.
Thomas’ No. 2 will be retired Feb. 17 against Colorado at Alaska Airlines Arena, a school spokesman told The News Tribune on Thursday. The ceremony was set for Feb. 15 against Utah but that all changed when Thomas was traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Los Angeles Lakers. With the Lakers hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves on Feb. 15, the school and Thomas were able to move the event to the 17th.
Carter Henderson, who is UW’s associate athletic director for communications and marketing, said Thomas confirmed with the school that he will be at the Colorado game for the ceremony.
