Senior Cheng-Tsung Pan, fresh off a win in the NCAA Regional in Bremerton, leads the Washington men’s golf team into the NCAA men’s golf championship that begins Friday at Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla.
The Huskies, ranked No. 17 by Golfweek, are one of 30 teams in the field. After four days of stroke play, an individual champion will be crowned and the top eight teams will move on to match play.
“In previous years, there have been a lot of expectations, and that’s a lot of pressure,” said UW coach Matt Thurmond. “This year, we are a little fortunate to be here, there aren’t a lot of expectations and we’re to enjoy the experience.
