TUCSON, Ariz. – Somebody’s streak had to end.
The Huskies entered Thursday’s hoping to extend their three-game winning streak, but No. 18 Arizona also wanted to capture its 48th straight victory at McKale Center and preserve the longest active home winning streak among Division I teams.
Unlike the Huskies’ previous Pac-12 games, this one wasn’t a nailbiter like their two overtimes wins and comeback victory. Unfortunately, the UW men’s basketball team was knocked out long before the final buzzer rang on its humbling 99-67 defeat.
The Wildcats put the game away in the first 10½ minutes in the second half when they used a 31-9 run to extend a 44-41 halftime lead to go ahead by 25 points with 9:35 remaining.
