Budda Baker, the Huskies’ standout sophomore safety, left Saturday’s loss to Utah in the first quarter with what coaches later said was a head injury. He did not return.
Baker will enter concussion protocol to determine his status for next week’s game at Arizona State.
“Losing a guy like that, his presence and his ability to tackle in space and his knowledge what everybody’s supposed to do — and what offenses are trying to get done — you know, you lose a little of that,” UW defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski said.
