Kayla Burt is among the inductees to the Snohomish County Hall of Fame. The Sports Hall of Fame Banquet where the Class of 2016 will be honored is Sept. 28 at the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center at Xfinity Arena.
Burt is credited as being the first female in the country to surpass 2,000 career points as a star on the Arlington High girls basketball team. She averaged 27.4 points per game and earned a scholarship to play at the University of Washington.
In 2002, Burt suffered a cardiac arrest at home on New Year’s Eve. She was dead for five minutes, teammates using CPR to help save her life.
