USC coach Steve Sarkisian says he will explore treatment for alcohol but does not believe he has a drinking problem. The former Washington coach apologized for his actions during USC’s “Salute to Troy” event Saturday night, when says he mixed alcohol and medication.
“I took medication, mixed it with alcohol, not a lot … and responded in a way that was not acceptable for me or the university,” Sarkisian said during a brief media gathering before USC’s practice Tuesday morning.
Sarkisian said alcohol will be banned from USC’s football building. In the past, he acknowledged there was alcohol in the coaches’ locker room, but he said it wasn’t in the players’ locker room.
