DALLAS — Eight people died Saturday night after tornadoes touched down near Dallas, shortly after the conclusion of the Huskies’ victory over Southern Mississippi in the Heart of Dallas Bowl.
The storms continued into Sunday morning, with severe thunder and lightning, leaving many travelers stranded at the Dallas airport, including some UW players.
A number of UW players had made plans to travel from Dallas to their homes in California and elsewhere after the bowl game. UW’s winter-term classes don’t start until after the new year, so players were planning to spend the next week or so with family.
