A well-prepared Angels fan caught Mike Trout’s grand-slam ball on Sunday with — what else? — a fishing net.
Catch of the Day in Anaheim? Trout, of course.
A prescient Angels fan brought a huge fishing net — complete with letters spelling out “Trout net!” attached to its rim — to Sunday’s game against Texas. And sure enough, sitting in the right-center bleachers, Jonathan Plaza snared Mike Trout’s sixth-inning grand slam with it.
“I just had a hunch that it was going to be a special moment, so I took out the net once Trout walked up to the plate,” Plaza told MLB.
