Washington head coach Jedd Fisch referred to Demond Williams Jr. as the “future face of the program” back in October. At the time, Williams had yet to start a game in college and had never thrown for even 75 yards in a game. The idea that Williams has a ceiling that could get him invited to New York for the Heisman looks a lot more plausible after a Sun Bowl outing in which Williams shook off an early pick-six to have 420+ total yards and 5 total TDs.
It was an incredibly impressive true freshman season.
