Shares of Seattle-based Tableau plunged about 20 percent in trading Wednesday after the data visualization company reported a second quarter loss.
Tableau’s stock was down to about $103..46 per share about halfway through the trading day Wednesday.
The company said it lost nearly $19 million in the second quarter, compared with a $4.6 million loss in the same period last year.
What may have investors concerned even more is Tableau’s slowing rate of growth. The company reported a revenue increase of 65 percent to $149.9 million, beating analyst expectations, but not matching the 75 percent increase Tableau reported in the first quarter.
