Sun Bowl becomes ‘The Demond Williams Show’ in 35-34 loss to Louisville

What felt inevitable in October became reality on New Year’s Eve; the Washington Huskies concluded their first season as a Big Ten member with a losing record.

But after watching Demond Williams torch Louisville in the Sun Bowl, who cares? Alright, that’s short-sighted, but what a showing by the young quarterback. Williams threw for 374 yards, four touchdowns and an interception on 26-of-32 attempts.

Perhaps the most impressive part of Williams’ big day is how he responded to adversity. Louisville’s first touchdown of the evening was a pick-six. But it didn’t rattle Williams. He didn’t flinch, and the result was a jaw-dropping performance throughout the rest of the afternoon.
