Washington Softball has had a Sunday problem all season. The Huskies finished the regular season going 0-6 on Sundays as they consistently fell flat in the final game of their Pac-12 series chances. In the end, they didn’t even get the opportunity to improve that statistic as they lost 3-2 to #4 seed Omaha and 4-1 to #1 seed Missouri on Saturday to fall short of the Regional Final for the first time in more than 2 decades.
Things appeared to start out in a promising fashion. Despite entering Regionals on a 4-game losing streak, the #2 seeded Huskies made key plays when needed to emerge with a victory on Friday night over #3 seed Indiana.
