A semi-truck barreled off northbound Interstate 5 early Friday morning near Southcenter and crashed into a ravine where it caught on fire.
The crash happened a little after 2 a.m. and the driver was taken to Harborview Medical Center.
All lanes of I-5 reopened around 5:30 a.m., but an earlier backup reached 4 miles.
In an effort to minimize the impact on morning commuters, crews will recover the semi at a later time, according to the Washington State Patrol.
