Washington technically doesn’t have a vacancy at its defensive coordinator position right now. But the expectation is that Steve Belichick will be following his father Bill to North Carolina after UW’s bowl game next week (and his buyout drops to $0) which is why the Huskies are reportedly “working to finalize a deal” with former Purdue head coach and Illinois defensive coordinator Ryan Walters. That status was first reported by Matt Zenitz of 247 Sports while Bruce Feldman of The Athletic reported to “look for the Huskies to fill the [DC] vacancy with Walters”.
