Reign take a defender and a midfielder. Two UW players taken by Houston.
The Seattle Reign picked up a pair of players in the National Women’s Soccer League draft Thursday.
The Washington Huskies sent two players into the NWSL via the draft.
The Reign started off the day with a trade, acquiring defender Yael Averbuch and the 25th pick (third round) in exchange for midfielder Diana Matheson.
With the 25th pick, the Reign took Wake Forest defender Ally Haran.
Haran was part of a Demon Deacon backline that had 28 shutouts in her career.
