Recruiting Roundup: Jedd Fisch notches first signature victory

If you want to generate buzz, secure the top-ranked in-state recruiting. Though that sentiment was apparent before July’s arrival, it became hard-proof when linebacker Zaydrius Rainey-Sale (Bethel High School) committed to Washington for a second time.

Formerly a commit under ex-Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer, Rainey-Sale —247Sports’ No. 1 overall recruit in-state and No. 14 ranked linebacker in the nation — chose to explore his options following a seismic coaching carousel that saw DeBoer depart to Alabama.

Now it’s Jedd Fisch who calls the shots in Seattle and though there’s still over a month remaining until the upcoming season begins, it’s safe to call his first offseason in Seattle a victorious one.
