Postgame wrapup: Huskies come up short against Gonzaga’s big front line

In a game that appeared headed towards a blowout, the Huskies trimmed its 24-point deficit to 11 with less than three minutes left.

But that’s as close as they would get to No. 10 Gonzaga, which held off Washington for a comfortable 80-64 win in the Battle 4 Atlantis opener at the Imperial Arena in Nassau, Bahamas.

The Bulldogs (3-0) extended their dominance over their cross-state rival. They’ve won nine of the past 10 meetings in a series that was renewed after a nine-year layoff. The teams have agreed on a four-year series that’s scheduled to start next season.
